Shelley Steer is a textile designer and illustrator based in Melbourne, Australia. Inspired by the timeless tradition of botanical illustration, her work is often rich in colour and meticulous detail.
After studying a Bachelor of Arts (Textile Design) at RMIT in Melbourne, she went on to develop and refine her skills in the fashion industry before moving to London. It was here that her appreciation of plants and gardens surfaced with countless visits to Kew Gardens over the changing seasons—an influence that is reflected throughout her work.
An ever-observant eye and creative mindset has led to collaborations across interior, fashion and identity projects.
